ARMIN MÜHSAM - ALSO ON VIEW

Also On View is a new iteration of Mühsam’s practice, which finds its inspiration in the found object, architecture, and the history of ideas. To generate ideas, he often paints, draws, and collages on found magazine pages. These are then either turned into larger paintings or added to what has become an ever-expanding body of work in its own right.

This 20-page artist book, printed by Oddities Prints in Kansas City, MO, in 2025, represents a further conceptual step, as it returns the single magazine pages to a bound book form. The Risograph process was chosen because it simultaneously creates a mass-produced object while still generating unique impressions for each copy.

The title points to the future, signaling Mühsam’s intention to continue publishing in this same format. Each new book will be an ongoing reflection on his practice as well as a potential predictor of what is about to happen in his studio.
