Sigmund Freud described dreams as a “royal road to a knowledge of the unconscious activities of the mind.” He believed that these activities involve the substitute gratification of repressed wishes: that which we want and can’t have, we dream about in disguised form.

In this epistolary exchange, two friends report on their diverging road trips as they traverse unconscious topographies. Their dreams drive desire into motion, propelling them toward their longed-for futures.
